Detector Testers
Smoke and heat testing. A digital record of the work. Meet Testifire XTR2.

With Detector Testers, you can test installed fire detectors and keep a record of your work. XTR2 connects to DT Connect so you can capture results as you go.

The detector type determines whether the test needs smoke, heat or both.
XTR2 offers smoke, heat, combined and sequential test modes.
Optical sensors detect the detector’s activation LED to help record its response.
DT Connect organises test records by job, with reporting features available by subscription.
Compare smoke, heat, multi-sensor and air-sampling tests.
Smoke mode introduces a test aerosol to activate a compatible detector. Clearing mode helps remove the remaining aerosol after the test.
Heat and high-heat modes suit different detector ratings. The XTR2 compatibility guide lists the supported detectors and test settings.
XTR2 can apply smoke and heat together or in sequence, depending on the detector’s test procedure. It does not test carbon monoxide sensors.
The ASD adaptor delivers smoke to a sampling point, with a delayed start for supported tests. Pipe travel time and sensitivity are separate parts of system testing.
These marks cover XTR2 equipment and battery compliance. They do not certify the building’s fire alarm system.

You can use XTR2 to test smoke and heat sensors. For carbon monoxide sensors, you’ll need a separate, compatible CO tester.
You can use the basic app functions for free. If you need advanced reports or want to compare completed tests with planned work, you can choose a paid plan.
No. A recorded pass tells you how the detector responded. You still need to test the control panel, alarms, interfaces and programmed alarm actions as part of full system maintenance.
Check the detector size, mounting height and the tool’s compatibility list. Send the detector model and required working height so the head, adaptors and poles can be matched.
Scorpion provides an installed way to test detectors or sampling systems that are difficult to reach. The test equipment must suit the detection system and be included in its maintenance plan.
Use the consumable specified for the tester and detector. An unsuitable aerosol can leave residue or produce unreliable results. Include the tester model when ordering refills.
