About KAC

A Clear Place to Raise the Alarm

KAC makes manual call points for fire and security systems. Choose the housing for the location, then match the contacts or communication protocol to the connected system.

01

Inside the Building

Indoor MCP devices offer a choice of contacts, indicators and operating elements.

02

Exposed to Weather

Sealed WCP enclosures suit outdoor or wet locations when installed as specified.

03

Specialist Applications

Marine, high-humidity and control duties need the appropriate model and approval.

Match the Call Point to the System

The housing alone does not tell you how a call point connects.

01

Check the Electrical Options

Match the resistor value, LED and contact arrangement to the panel. MCP1 through MCP4 provide different options; a matching enclosure is not enough.

Product selection

  • Conventional contacts or addressable protocol
  • Indoor, outdoor or hazardous location
  • Resettable element, cover and accessories
  • Approval, colour and mounting

How the products work

  • Manual call points are available as conventional contact devices and as protocol-specific intelligent variants.
  • Resettable elements, protective covers, back boxes and weatherproof enclosures change installation and maintenance details.
  • A call point's colour and legend are application- and market-dependent; red is not appropriate for every control function.
Frequently asked questions

Quick answers

How Do Indoor MCP and Outdoor WCP Call Points Differ?

MCP models are for indoor locations. WCP models have sealed enclosures for outdoor or wet locations; the WCP1 range is rated IP67. Select the exact model for its environment and follow the cable-entry and mounting instructions.

Will Any KAC Call Point Work With My Fire Panel?

No. Check the panel requirements and full call point part number. Conventional models use different resistor, LED and contact arrangements. Intelligent models must use the communication protocol supported by the panel.

What Is the Difference Between MCP1, MCP2, MCP3 and MCP4?

MCP1 offers resistor and clean-contact options. MCP2 includes an LED indicator. MCP3 provides a single changeover contact, while MCP4 has double-pole contacts. Check the model datasheet before ordering.

Can I Choose Glass or a Resettable Element?

KAC offers glass and resettable elements for relevant call point models. Use the element specified for the exact unit and check any approval requirements before changing the configuration.

Are There KAC Call Points for Marine Installations?

KAC lists MED-approved indoor and outdoor call point variants. Match the exact part number to the current certificate and the vessel’s requirements; do not assume every model or marking is covered.

Does the Housing Colour Tell Me What the Device Does?

Colour and markings help identify the intended function, but they do not establish electrical compatibility. Fire alarm, door release and other control duties need the correct contacts, ratings and markings.

What Accessories Are Available?

The range includes mounting boxes, test keys, replacement elements and protective covers. Check the accessory part number against the installed call point; covers and seals differ between models.

What Should I Send When Ordering a Replacement?

Send the full part number and a clear nameplate photo, plus the panel model, installation location, housing colour and markings. Include any required fire or marine approval.
