Tyco
Marine fire alarm panels, Minerva SIL2 configurations and water-based fire protection.

Tyco combines water-based fire protection with Minerva marine fire-detection systems. Select each range for its application and approval requirements. If you’re identifying an existing sprinkler, its sprinkler identification number (SIN) helps you find the model and technical data.

Explore Valves + system components Ask about this rangeMinerva T2000 and T2000CV are addressable marine fire-detection controllers. They identify alarms from supported MZX devices and coordinate the vessel’s alarm response.
Choose the controller around the vessel layout, device count, operator stations and required interfaces. These panels use the manufacturer’s MZX technology; Apollo device compatibility must not be assumed.
Compare Marine Fire Safety Systems
A modular platform with two MZX digital loops in its standard configuration. Johnson Controls describes expansion to eight loops, supporting up to 1,000 devices, with networking available through the appropriate interface.
The compact variant provides three loops and up to 750 points. It is a standalone panel and cannot be networked. Specify its supported repeater and interfaces separately.
A SIL2 claim concerns a defined safety instrumented function. Assess the sensor, controller and final element together, including their failure response, interfaces and test requirements. A SIL2-capable panel does not automatically make the complete installation SIL2.
Review the IEC 61508 documentation alongside marine type approval, supported hardware and software, and vessel acceptance. Keep the safety requirements, cause-and-effect and commissioning records with the system documentation.
The SIN identifies the sprinkler model and its data sheet.
The K-factor describes water flow at a given pressure.
The temperature rating determines when the sprinkler activates.
Quick-response and standard-response sprinklers react to heat at different rates.
Upright, pendent, sidewall and concealed models suit different mounting positions.
Explore the basic discharge equation using a known metric K-factor and pressure.
Q = K × √P, using metric K in L/min/√bar and pressure in bar, giving Q in L/min. Use the exact sprinkler's K-factor and a design pressure.
A complete sprinkler design also accounts for pipe losses, water supply, required flow and the area protected.
Tyco sprinkler system formulasApprovals vary by sprinkler model, finish, mounting position and temperature rating. The data sheet lists the approved combinations.
Tyco product pages provide specification tables and technical data sheets for the selected sprinkler family.

T2000 supports an expandable, networkable marine detection architecture. T2000CV provides three loops as a standalone panel and cannot be networked. Check the current configuration and supported repeaters before selecting either model.
No. Define and assess the complete safety function, including detection, controller, final elements, interfaces and proof testing. The panel's documentation is one part of that assessment.
Minerva uses MZX technology. Do not assume Apollo loop compatibility. For a project using Apollo devices, compare the supported Marinelec or Kentec configuration and its marine approval separately.
No. You also need to match the sprinkler identification number (SIN), response, K-factor, temperature, orientation, coverage and approval.
No. You need a K-factor in litres per minute per square-root bar for this calculator. Entering an imperial K-factor will give you the wrong result.
No. You can use it to calculate flow at a given pressure. You still need a complete hydraulic design that accounts for pipe losses, water supply, density, spacing and the applicable standard.
Do not repaint, modify or attempt to repair a sprinkler. Have the maintenance contractor assess it and replace it where required by the manufacturer’s instructions.
Record its sprinkler identification number, temperature marking, response type and orientation. Photos of the markings and any cover plate help identify the exact model.
No. Use the cover plate specified for the sprinkler model, including its temperature rating and installation adjustment. Similar size or appearance does not establish compatibility.
Send the panel or sprinkler references, vessel or building requirements, and required approvals. We will help identify the appropriate range.
